Making Tracks Release Date Policy

We recommend any users wishing to receive up-to date information regarding release dates sign up to our occasional newsletter "Operating Notice" which is usually sent out about 4 times a year when we have enough to say to justify its publication.

Due to the fact that no one in MT works full time on MT's behalf, and that so many things can interfere with how long it takes to finish something it is IMPOSSIBLE to give sensible release dates until just before release.

We have tried to give dates in the past, but it causes more friction because people simply do not understand the concept that a date can only be a guess, and its normally wrong.

Based on this, It is unfair to give people a date which then might change, as people seem incapable of understanding the concept of "best guess" and that it may be wrong by any up to and even more than 12 months.
Things will be released when they are ready, not a day before. Asking for release dates will no longer get a response, because simply we do not know the answer.

If we say its gonna be out on 'nth of March and its late, we get slated, if we say its gonna be out on Christmas Day, and its released on Christmas Day, nobody realises that all of Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning was spent working on it to go out on Christmas Day. You may have noticed that some products recently have not even been through the announcement process at all and have just silently appeared on our shop/website.

Then we do post a release date that is fixed because the product is purely being held (with justifiable and accurate reasons posted) we still get asked for a release date 4 posts down the page in the forum.

Once we do have an expected release date it will be advertised on the products page on our website. Please note that this date may still be changed as described above at any time up-to actual release.

For further information about the release date policy, please view our forum where it has been discussed at length many times.
